Artist Bio
Kirsten Baity
Kirsten Baity (they/them) is a Black playwright, intimacy director, and teaching artist from Chicago. They first discovered their passion for theatre education while participating in Playbuild as a student. They unearthed a love for amplifying the voices of young artists and creating theatre for social change. Kirsten teaches with 2nd Story Theatre and the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health. They have facilitated workshops for Aboutface Theatre and the Pedagogy of Theatre of the Oppressed Conference. As a founding collaborator of the Global Majority Intimacy Conference, Kirsten is committed to creating inclusive theatre practices. They hold a BA in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago.
