The Goodman Business Council is comprised of civic-minded Chicago business leaders who are committed to having an impact in their community while expanding their networks and experiencing great live theater. Together, Business Council members help the Goodman tell stories that reflect diverse Chicago communities. Members gain access to behind-the-scenes views of the Goodman, complimentary tickets for client entertainment and employee engagement, and access to the Goodman network for personal and professional development.
Business Council Members make a commitment to:
- Be involved as an advocate and audience member
- Make a cash and/or in-kind contribution of $10,000-$15,000 through their companies
- Introduce individuals from the broader business community to the Goodman
- Attend Business Council and other events, or invite another representative of their company to do so
Members actively engage with the Goodman as their time allows and in turn experience the benefits of being associated with one of Chicago’s premier cultural institutions.

A not-for-profit arts and community organization, the Goodman serves the Chicago community with new plays by innovative writers, classic revivals, large-scale musicals and community programming. The Goodman is an anchor of the North Loop Theater District, drawing in more than 250,00 visitors and having an economic impact of nearly $30 million each year.
Goodman Theatre has held an institutional pillar of diversity and equity for more than thirty years, a commitment that informs everything from the selection of plays on stage to behind-the-scenes efforts focused on talent development, civic partnerships, and service to the community.
Goodman Education and Engagement programs serve learners aged 9 to 99, helping them to trust in the power of their voice and work towards a better community for all. Each year, more than 3,000 students and lifelong learners enroll in programs which teach essential skills, improve the quality of our schools, and foster community, completely free of charge.

The Goodman offers Business Council members and companies the opportunity to reach a variety of desirable audiences, cultivate clients, reward employees, and demonstrate civic support in Chicago.
Companies qualify to place a representative on the Business Council with gifts of $10-$15,000. While sponsorship packages are usually customized, most include a bank of complimentary tickets, an opportunity to designate a gift toward a program or project, visibility on Goodman materials, support to host private events if desired, access to the Goodman’s network of supporters, and regular invitations to special Business Council receptions.
