CONTEXT
A series of community conversations that explore how the themes of a Goodman production intersect with contemporary issues in Chicago—and beyond.
This series of community conversations explores how the themes of a Goodman production intersect with contemporary issues in Chicago and beyond. Unlike post-show discussions that focus primarily on the production, CONTEXT events concentrate on particular issues raised within the plays and explore how they resonate in today’s culture, and offers public space for discussion and debate.
Previous topics included round table discussions about Third Wave Feminism for Rapture, Blister, Burn by Gina Gionfriddo, and the connection between food and culture for High Holidays by Alan Gross, as well as an exploration of Lorraine Hansberry’s essays and activism in conjunction with the release of Sighted Eyes, Feeling Heart, the first documentary focusing on Hansberry’s life and work.
