Austin Tichenor

Austin Tichenor (Crumb/Fezziwig Guests) returns for his fourth A Christmas Carol after three years as the Alternate Scrooge. Other Chicago credits include The Book of Will (Northlight); In The Garden (Lookingglass); Coriolanus and The Merchant of Venice (Back Room Shakespeare Project). As artistic director of Reduced Shakespeare Company, he’s acted off-Broadway, in the West End, and on PBS in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). Other TV includes 24, Ally McBeal, Felicity, Gilmore Girls, Chicago Med, X-Files and The West Wing. Regional credits include Kindred Spirits and Twelfth Night (Cincinnati Shakespeare); his own William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged) (Folger Theatre); and his own The Comedy of Hamlet! (a prequel) (Merrimack Repertory Theater). He co-created two illustrated children’s books, Pop-Up Shakespeare and Daisy the Littlest Zombie, hosts the Reduced Shakespeare Company Podcast, the world’s longest-running theater podcast, and received the 2025 Sandra & Sidney Berger Award from the Shakespeare Theatre Association, presented annually to artistic directors in recognition of outstanding talent and dedication to the works of William Shakespeare. @The.Shakespeareance
