Oz Scott

Oz Scott most recently collaborated with the Goodman on The Ballad of Emmett during the 2007/2008 Season. Mr. Scott directed for colored girls who considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf by Ntozake Shange. He also has participated in The Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center’s National Playwrights Conference for many years. Traveling to Russia with The Old Settler for the O’Neill, Mr. Scott directed both an American cast as well as a Russian cast in a Russian translation. His film credits include The Cheetah Girls; Play’d—A Hip Hop Story for VH1; Tears and Laughter: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story; Spanish Judges featuring Vincent D’Onofrio and Matthew Lillard; and Bustin’ Loose starring Richard Pryor and Cicely Tyson. Television credits include episodes of programs including C.S.I., CSI NY, The Unit, The Guardian, Family Law, The District, JAG, American Gothic, Boston Legal, The Practice, American Dreams, Ed, Ally McBeal, Party of Five, Soul Food, Any Day Now, The Cosby Show, Northern Exposure, Chicago Hope, Picket Fences, LA Law, Hill Street Blues and many others. Mr. Scott has received an NAACP Image Award, the Drama Desk Award, a Village Voice Obie Award for Off Broadway, Genesis Award and the Nancy Susan Reynolds Award. Mr. Scott serves on the Board of The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and  holds an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
