Artist Bio
Comediants
(Bio as of August 2006)
Comediants, a collection of actors, musicians and artists completely dedicated to “the creative world,” most recently collaborated with the Goodman on the 2006 Latino Theatre Festival. Although they are primarily known as a theatrical group, Comediants also pursues projects in a variety of arts including music recordings, books, festivals, movies and television as vehicles to express their artistic voice. Comediants’ objective is to establish a “theater of the senses.” Going beyond theatrics and musicals, it celebrates human existence by opening people’s eyes to the world around them and connecting them with their fellow human beings and the nature surrounding them. Comediants’ original credits include Non Plus Plis, Sol Solet, Alé, La Nit (The Night), Dimonis (Demons), Sarao de Gala, Mediterrania, El Llibre de les Bèsties (The Book of Beasts), Anthologia, T.E.M.P.U.S., El Pájaro de Mil Colores (The Bird of 1000 Colors), Bl y El Árbol de la Memoria (Bl and El the Memory Tree). They have also produced operas and musicals such as La Flauta Mágica (The Magic Flute), La Pequeña Flauta Mágica y d’Ópera (Gran Teatro del Liceo/Barcelona), Orfeo ed Euridice (Festival de Peralada/Girona) y la Verbena de La Paloma (Festival de Música y Danza de Granada).
