Artist Bio
Aguijón Theater Company
(Bio as of July 2010)
Aguijón Theater Company of Chicago most recently collaborated with the Goodman on the 2010 Latino Theater Festival. It was founded in 1989 by actress/director Rosario Vargas to promote diversity by challenging and inspiring audiences to surmount idiomatic barriers and cross-cultural boundaries. Through artistic collaborations, literary adaptations and original works, Aguijón exposes Latino and non-Latino audiences to high-quality Spanish-language theater. Aguijón has received local and international recognition and has participated in international theater festivals in Peru, Colombia and Argentina, among other countries.
