Laura Crotte most recently appeared at the Goodman in The Sins of Sor Juana during the 2009/2010 Season. Her other Goodman credits include the Latino Theatre Festival in her own musical adaptation and direction of Al son que me toques, Lorca and Chicago Children’s Theatre’s production of Esperanza Rising. She also appeared at the Goodman in Mariela in the Desert and Electricidad. Her other Chicago credits include Another Part of the House and Blind Mouth Singing at Chopin Theatre, The Sins of Sor Juana at the Mexican Museum of Fine Arts and the opera María de Buenos Aires at the Chicago Cultural Center. She has participated in readings with the Goodman, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the Chicago Humanities Festival, Victory Gardens Theater, Chicago Dramatists and Teatro Vista. Ms. Crotte’s international credits include La Casa de Bernarda Alba with Aguijón Theater, which toured to Argentina and Peru. She also appeared in Cuarteto, featured at Gran Teatro in La Havana. Her credits in Mexico include work in puppet theater, Comedia dell’Arte, musicals and national tours. Her film work has been shown at the Chicago International Latino Film Festival (among others) and includes Alquimia, Out of Love and the upcoming Maydays. She is a vocalist, Illinois Arts Council teaching artist and binational cultural exchange promoter.
