    In tandem with PlayBuild and the Musical Theater Intensive, this summer program unites multigenerational participants to create personal stories and original devised work that considers perspectives of all ages. The program culminates in a performance that echoes the theme of the summer youth programs.

    A civic engagement series designed to enhance the theatergoing experience by connecting audiences with issues reflected in Goodman productions, and the organizations and initiatives that address these issues.

  • NOURISH

    For leaders in Chicago communities

    This partnership between the Center for Performance and Civic Practice (CPCP) and Goodman Theatre aims to develop greater local capacity for arts-based community-led transformation. The multi-year initiative annually selects a cohort of Chicago based artists and activists who develop projects designed to find solutions to community-identified issues to help build a better Chicago.

    A series of community conversations that explore how the themes of a Goodman production intersect with contemporary issues in Chicago—and beyond.

  • GeNarrations

    For Chicagoland adults aged 55+

    A storytelling performance workshop in which participants develop personal narrative performance pieces based on themes raised by Goodman productions, which they are then invited to perform in a public forum. The Goodman offers at least three seven-week sessions each season, with up to 20 participants in each session. This program is presented in collaboration with the City of Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services as well as session-specific community based organizations.
