    In tandem with PlayBuild and the Musical Theater Intensive, this summer program unites multigenerational participants to create personal stories and original devised work that considers perspectives of all ages. The program culminates in a performance that echoes the theme of the summer youth programs.

    For general audiences

    A civic engagement series designed to enhance the theatergoing experience by connecting audiences with issues reflected in Goodman productions, and the organizations and initiatives that address these issues.


    For leaders in Chicago communities

    This partnership between the Center for Performance and Civic Practice (CPCP) and Goodman Theatre aims to develop greater local capacity for arts-based community-led transformation. The multi-year initiative annually selects a cohort of Chicago based artists and activists who develop projects designed to find solutions to community-identified issues to help build a better Chicago.

    A series of community conversations that explore how the themes of a Goodman production intersect with contemporary issues in Chicago—and beyond.

  • GeNarrations

    For Chicagoland adults aged 55+

    A storytelling performance workshop in which participants use themes of Goodman productions to develop personal narrative pieces. The Goodman annually offers four (4) six-week sessions at nine venues across the city, including its Alice Rapoport Center for Education and Engagement at Goodman Theatre. Each session includes storytelling classes, a performance workshop, and a showcase of stories from each class, hosted in the Alice Center.
