Jonathan Tunick most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Bounce during the 2002/2003 Season. Long associated with Stephen Sondheim as orchestrator of such landmark musicals as Passion, Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Follies and Company, Mr. Tunick's other Broadway credits include Nine (Tony Award nomination), Elaine Stritch: At Liberty, Titanic and A Chorus Line. He is also a noted composer, arranger and conductor of music for film and television; credits include Fort Apache: The Bronx; Endless Love; Blazing Saddles; Young Frankenstein; The Bird Cage; Murder She Wrote and Columbo. He has served as arranger/conductor in recordings with Judy Collins, Cleo Laine, Kiri Te Kanawa, Itzhak Perlman, Placido Domingo, Johnny Mathis, Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney and Bernadette Peters' recent Rodgers & Hammerstein album. Last summer he conducted Sondheim's Company at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. A native New Yorker, Mr. Tunick was educated at Bard College and Juilliard, and is married to the singer/actress Leigh Beery. Previously holding the Emmy, Grammy and Academy Awards, in 1997, for Titanic, he was awarded the first Tony ever given for orchestration, establishing him as one of the few persons holding all four major awards.
