An ambitious African American reporter is hired by a major newspaper. She feels that the section she is assigned to is marginalizing her, and she’s confident she can be promoted to the Metro section with the right story. After an affluent white man is murdered in a “bad” neighborhood, the reporter cracks the murder case with a sensational scoop—but is it the truth? The fine line between a good story and a true story in the American media is explored in this fast-paced drama, described by the New York Times as “absorbing” and “compelling.” Goodman Resident Director Chuck Smith directs.
