HORA DE CUENTINFLAS

Saturday, September 13

Hora de Cuentinflas features immersive Spanish songs, dramatized storytime, with a touch of disability & drag! The name Cuentinflas harkens to the Mexican Comedian Cantinflas, whom Charlie Chaplin described as “The greatest comedian in the world”. Now, Cuentinflas is joined by musical guest Otto and they are here to entertain, educate, and delight children and their families! Cuentinflas champions disability justice, queerness, storytelling, and language learning through cultural competency. Together, with Cuentinflas, we will learn how to connect to our bodies, voices, and the power of imagination. In 90 minutes, we will have story time, play some games, and sing songs en Español!

While youngsters create the story, the grownups will quickly create a series of prop and set pieces from found materials. Believe it or not, when we all come back together, we’ll have a play.
