The Cook

Oct 20 – Nov 18, 2007 in Goodman's Owen Theatre

2 hours

It is 1958 in Havana, on the night of Castro’s revolution. The aristocratic owners of an estate flee the country, entrusting it to their young cook, who vows to safeguard it until their return. Through the years, the cook holds firm to the promise as the dream of a new society crumbles under the weight of corrupted ideals. The Cook is a timely, vibrant portrait of a political movement and its most human effects.
