“When we were developing BUST, we knew that sound would be a crucial component of the play. Sound—music—transports us, moves us, harkens back to our histories, while also imagining our futures. It has the potential to transform. So, in addition to our collaboration with the incredible sound designer Mikaal Sulaiman, we wanted to invite a kind of “sonic dramaturg” to the play, someone who could offer another way to think about music. DJ Reborn is a phenomenal artist, and, as a DJ, holds a wealth of knowledge about musical lineage and the interconnection between tracks across time.
