Worldbuilding for the Stage is a free workshop for Chicagoland teens interested in exploring scenic design and the art of building worlds for the stage. Discover how theatrical spaces are imagined, designed and brought to life. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore how scenic designers visualize environments, support storytelling and collaborate with directors and creative teams to shape the world of a production. Led by Chicago-based scenic designer Regina García, Head of the Scenic Design program at The Theatre School at DePaul University, teens will gain insight into a key area of technical theatre artistry and learn how design choices influence what audiences see and feel onstage.
Tickets are FREE. Reservations are required.
