Drink With a Purpose

Written by Rebecca Racean

The Penelopiad and Chicago Foundation for Women Unite

With The Penelopiad–a play by Margaret Atwood directed by Goodman Theatre’s very own Artistic Director Susan V. Booth–in full swing, there’s a host of exciting activities taking place behind the scenes. Meanwhile, we’d like to take you behind the bar to feature some of our specialty cocktails along with the incredible organization we’re working with through the run of this show March 2 – March 31.

Through the end of the run for The Penelopiad we are offering two specialty drinks: the Adonis Spritz and the Lotus Eater.

Take your pick and support The Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) an organization that focuses on “issues that affect all women, girls, trans, and gender nonbinary people,” with 20% of the net sales for The Penelopiad specialty drinks going to CFW.

CFW “envisions a world in which all women, girls, trans, and gender nonbinary people have the opportunity to thrive in safe, just and healthy communities.”

About CFW

  • Since 1985, Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) has been a leader in the movement to achieve basic rights and equal opportunities, investing in women and girls as catalysts building stronger communities for all.
  • Today, more than 37 years later, CFW continues to be the only organization in the region to take a comprehensive approach to understand and address the issues impacting Chicago-area women and girls.
  • CFW invests in the future of emerging organizations through leadership development and support in building sustainable nonprofit infrastructure. As a result, two-thirds of nonprofits for which CFW was the first institutional or ‘seed’ funder are still thriving 10 years after receiving their first CFW grant.

The CFW funds programs and organizations that:

  • Expand economic security
  • Ensure freedom from violence
  • Enhance access to health services

Get tickets to The Penelopiad to enjoy these specialty drinks and support CFW through March 31!
