Artist Bio
Michael Gibson
(Bio as of September 2001)
Michael Gibson (1944-2005) orchestrated over 100 Broadway and regional productions, including Woman of the Year, The Rink, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Over and Over, Anything Goes, My One and Only and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. In Chicago he orchestrated Elmer Gantry and That’s Christmas, starring Sandy Duncan. He also scored the Radio City touring show and the Ringling Brothers Circus. For symphony orchestra he has arranged a number of suites, including Chicago, Cabaret and Kiss of the Spider Woman, plus an entire evening to mark the recent Ellington centennial. Mr. Gibson has received two Tony nominations (for Cabaret and Steel Pier), and was honored with the Drama Desk Award for My One and Only and a platinum album for the film Grease.
