(Bio as of April 2005)
Jonathan Kreisberg most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky. He has studied a wide range of music and performed in many eclectic situations. He is recognized as one of the rising stars of the jazz world. As a member of University of Miami’s concert jazz band, he played with Joe Henderson, Michael Brecker and Red Rodney, as well as completing a tour of Brazil. He performed 20th century works with the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas. He is currently a respected sideman and leader in the New York jazz community. Mr. Kreisberg has been featured in Downbeat, Jazziz, Jazztimes and Guitar Player magazines. He holds court at his steady Wednesday trio gig in Greenwich Village at La Lanterna. He has released three CDs under his own name, including Jonathan Kreisberg Trio (1996), Trioing (2001), and Nine Stories Wide (2004, on Criss Cross Jazz). In 2005 he will release two new recordings; New for Now (also on Criss Cross Jazz) will feature his organ trio, and Unearth (on Mel Bay Records) will showcase his quintet.
