Artist Bio
Jeff Cowie
(Bio as of April 2005)
Jeff Cowie most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky during the 2004/2005 Season. Off-Broadway credits include Horton Foote’s The Carpetbagger’s Children for Lincoln Center Theater; The Day Emily Married for Primary Stages; Chris Shinn’s What Didn’t Happen for Playwrights Horizons; Eve Ensler’s Necessary Targets at Variety Arts; The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant at Henry Miller’s Theater (Drama Desk nomination); A Letter from Ethel Kennedy at MCC; The Clearing at Blue Light Theater; Defying Gravity at The Laura Rels; and Tennessee Williams’ The Red Devil Battery Sign at WPA. Regional work includes Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alley Theatre, Berkeley Rep, Guthrie Theater, Long Wharf Theatre, New York Stage & Film, Philadelphia Theatre Company and Hartford Stage, where his next project is Cat On a Hot Tin Roof. Mr. Cowie is the recipient of an NEA/Rockefeller Foundation Award and an Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship.
