Brian Hill

Brian Hill makes his Goodman Theatre debut. His Chicago credits include The Adventures of Pinocchio (Chicago Shakespeare Theater) and Not Wanted on the Voyage (American Music Theatre Project). His Broadway credits include The Story of My Life (which received Drama Desk Award nominations for Outstanding Book, Music, Lyrics and Production); The Lion King (resident director) and The Little Mermaid (associate director). His regional work includes Spin (Signature Theatre Company); The Story of My Life (Canadian Stage, Goodspeed Musicals); Not Wanted on the Voyage (Canadian Stage, The Stratford Festival, Goodspeed Musicals); The Theory of Relativity (Goodspeed Musicals, Canadian Music Theatre Project) and Clara’s Piano (Stratford Festival, National Ballet of Canada). He has directed for the Stratford Festival of Canada and Goodspeed Musicals and was associate director for the national tours of The Sound of Music and Sunset Boulevard. Before transitioning into directing and writing, Mr. Hill was an award-winning actor and a longtime member of the Shaw Festival repertory company. His upcoming writing projects include an adaptation of Michel Tremblay’s Les Belles Soeurs, Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes and Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks, all with composer/lyricist Neil Bartram. Bartram and Hill’s The Theory of Relativity premieres in London in May of 2014.
