Feast
Feast
Devised and Performed by Albany Park Theater Project
Directed by David Feiner
July 24 – August 16, 2015
Albany Park Theater Project (APTP) returns to Goodman Theatre with a revival of their 2010 hit play Feast, which tells stories of food cultures in immigrant Chicago—heirloom recipes, entrepreneurship, exploitation, migration, adaptation, heritage—and the pleasure of good food, lovingly prepared. As with all of APTP’s work, Feast is devised by the company’s 22-member “prodigiously gifted youth theater ensemble” (Chicago Sun-Times) in collaboration with a team of adult directors. The teens conducted more than two dozen interviews with people on the forefront of urban farming and in the heart of Chicago’s immigrant populations to create a new 90-minute piece that explores food’s role in nourishing individuals and communities.
Feast, which appears July 24 – August 16 in the Owen Theatre, will be presented with Spanish supertitles. Opening Night is Monday, July 27 at 7pm. Tickets ($10 – $40) are available at GoodmanTheatre.org, by phone at 312.443.3800 or at the box office (170 North Dearborn). For more information about Feast and APTP, click here.
