Faith Salie, Speaker
Faith Salie is a seven-time Emmy award-winning journalist on CBS Sunday Morning and a panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! Her newest podcast is called You Could Make This Beautiful with poet Maggie Smith. Her Off-Broadway solo show, Approval Junkie, was named one of Audible’s Best and made its world premiere at the Alliance Theatre, under the extraordinary vision of its erstwhile Artistic Director, Susan Booth. Faith is a storyteller for The Moth, with her story viewed 6 million times. She’s interviewed thousands of folks from Hillary Clinton to Chicago’s own Chance the Rapper; she’s been interviewed by Oprah Winfrey and Anderson Cooper. She’s written for The New York Times, Time, O, The Oprah Magazine, and McSweeney’s.
Faith is the only Rhodes scholar who’s been beamed up on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and landed on a collectible trading card worth thousands of cents. She’s swum with the Weeki Wachee mermaids, sung with the Boston Pops, and performed in sequins at Carnegie Hall. And she can name all of Shakespeare’s plays in under thirty seconds. Faith lives in Manhattan where she’s raising kids who say “y’all.”
