Every year, thousands of Chicagoland high school students attend Goodman productions free of charge through the School Matinee Series (SMS). These students and educators have access to in-depth resources to specific shows each season, including the ripple the wave that carried me home this season.

Our study guides include articles that explore the underlying themes of SMS plays and their connections to social and political movements throughout history and today—like the movement to rethink public safety in Chicago—as well as link what’s happening on the stage to core curricular aspects—like the physics behind the perfect backstroke.
