Invest in Inspiring Humanity

For 100 years, the not-for-profit Goodman Theatre has been Chicago’s source of bold entertainment and inspiration for audiences, and an artistic home for our city’s creative community.

In celebration of these ideals, longstanding supporters of the organization have stepped up to ensure that these commitments carry forward to our second century. More than $20 million has been raised to date, under the leadership of Goodman Board Chair Julie Danis and Trustee Elaine Leavenworth, with key gifts safeguarding many of our most precious priorities.

  • In support of new plays, the Ruth D. and Ken M. Davee New Works Fund will generate ongoing support for commissions and development.
  • In support of our world-class leaders, new positions have been named, including Walter Artistic Director Susan V. Booth, Kenneth Sawyer Goodman Resident Director Chuck Smith, Sabl Resident Director Henry Godinez and Clifford Director of Education and Engagement Jared Bellot.
  • In support of Access, Carol Prins and John Hart will ensure that the theater offers services for all.
  • In support of our service to communities, the Efroymson-Hamid Teaching Artists will shepherd lifelong learning across our programs.
  • In support of our longstanding Student Matinee Series, the Goodman Theatre Women’s Board has made a collective gift for the next generation of Chicago’s high school students.
  • In support of bold and ambitious programming, the Roche Schulfer Producing Fund will offer ongoing resources thanks to Susan and Jim Annable, Carol Prins and John Hart, Paul Dykstra and Spark Cremin and dozens more.

This generosity is an investment in the future of our work, ensuring that the innovation on our stages and in the community inspires a new generation of Chicagoans.

In the days and months to follow, the Goodman will continue to seek partners to invest in our future.
