Artist Bio
Yasmin Abidi
(Bio as of November 2004)
Yasmin Abidi most recently appeared at the Goodman in A Christmas Carol during the 2004/2005 Season. She is a recent graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University, and makes her debut at the Goodman in A Christmas Carol. Chicago credits include Olga in The Three Sisters directed by Lisa Portes, and Don Juan Comes Back from the War directed by Dexter Bullard, both at the Merle Reskin Theatre. Other roles at The Theatre School include Stevie in The Goat or, Who is Sylvia?, Martirio in The House of Bernardo Alba and Dorothea in Eleemosynary, all directed by Ernie Nolan. Favorite children’s theater roles include the Blue Fairy of Abacus in Pinocchio 3.5 directed by Barry Brunetti, and Aunt Bea in Ramona Quimby directed by Trudie Kessler, also at the Merle Reskin Theatre. Ms. Abidi comes to the Goodman directly from Lifeline Theatre’s production of Bunnicula in which she understudied the roles of Chester and Mom She has been playing the accordion since the age of seven.
