(Bio as of July 2010)
UrbanTheater Company most recently collaborated with the Goodman on the 2010 Latino Theater Festival. In 2005, UrbanTheater Company/Teatro Urbano (UTC) dedicated its successful premier season to Miguel Piñero with Short Eyes, The Sun Always Shines for the Cool and Eulogy for a Small Time Thief (winner of two After Dark Awards). In 2007-2008, UTC produced the urban musical Runaways and performed From the Streets to the Stage at the Goodman’s Latino Theatre Festival. In 2009 UTC unveiled premieres of Wysteria Edwards’ Broken Thread and produced the Jeff Recommended Cuba and His Teddy Bear by Reinaldo Povod (directed by Marilyn Camacho).
