Artist Bio
Toni-Leslie James
(Bio as of December 2000)
Toni-Leslie James most recently collaborated with the Goodman on King Hedley II during the 2000/2001 Season. Broadway credits include The Wild Party (FANY Award); Marie Christine (FANY nomination); Footloose; The Tempest (Drama Desk nomination); Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992; Angels in America; Jelly’s Last Jam (American Theatre Wing and DramaLogue Awards, Tony and Drama Desk nominations) and Chronicle of a Death Foretold. At the New York Shakespeare Festival: Dancing on Her Knees, Dog Opera, East Texas Hot Links, Measure for Measure, Spunk and Caucasian Chalk Circle (Drama Desk and American Theatre Wing nominations); and at Lincoln Center Theatre: A New Brain, God’s Heart, Chronicle of a Death Foretold and Hello Again. She has also designed for Circle Rep, Houston Grand Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Berkeley Rep, Alvin Ailey and WNET’s Great Performances, among others. Member of SGI-USA.
