Artist Bio
Tom Szentgyorgyi
(Bio as of June 2001)
Tom Szentgyorgyi most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Among the Thugs during the 2000/2001 Season. He is the author of Snow, produced at Next Theatre in 1997; A Family Man, produced at Next in 1994 and cited by the Joseph Jefferson Committee as one of the best plays of the year; and Dinosaur Dreams, produced at the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center and by Chicago Theatres on the Air. He has written and directed several award-winning documentaries. He was literary manager of New York’s Manhattan Theatre Club and associate artistic director of the Denver Center Theatre Company. In television he has written for several critically-acclaimed ratings failures, including Sports Night and Gideon’s Crossing. He is a co-producer of the upcoming ABC-TV series Philly.
