Artist Bio
René Rivera
(Bio as of July 2009)
René Rivera most recently appeared at the Goodman in Boleros for the Disenchanted during the 2008/2009 Season. He appeared at the Goodman in The Merchant of Venice and in Salomé on Broadway. Mr. Rivera’s off-Broadway credits include Henry IV parts 1 and 2, Hamlet, In the Jungle of Cities, Macbeth, The Way of the World and Richard II. His regional credits include Sonnets for an Old Century by José Rivera at Greenway Court Theatre, True West at Portland Center Stage, The House of Blue Leaves at Coconut Grove Playhouse, Don Juan at Centerstage and Hamlet at Huntington Theatre Company. His film credits include Before Night Falls, Basquiat, Disturbia, Lords of Dogtown, Oranges, It Could Happen to You, Deadly Little Secrets, Light Sleeper, Salomé and Bordertown. His television credits include The Old Man and the Sea (NBC), Prison Break (Fox), NYPD Blue (ABC), Thieves (ABC), E-Ring (NBC), Profiler (NBC), X-Files (Fox), Shark (CBS), Law & Order (NBC) and Hamlet (PBS). Mr. Rivera is a graduate of The Juilliard School in New York City and is a member of The Actors Studio.
