Artist Bio
Peter Sciscioli
(Bio as of June 2002)
Peter Sciscioli most recently appeared at the Goodman in Galileo Galilei during the 2001/2002 Season. He is currently artistic associate of Hedwig Dances, where he is also a company dancer. He has also danced for the Chicago Moving Company and Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre, as well as numerous independent choreographers. Mr. Sciscioli’s choreography has been presented locally at such venues as About Face Theatre (The Terrible Girls), the Athenaeum Theatre, Dance Center of Columbia College, Chicago Cultural Center, Link’s Hall, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. He has also been presented and has taught internationally in Brazil and Honduras, and nationally throughout Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. He has twice served as grants panelist, and in 2000 became a dance curator/consultant for the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Storefront Theater. Mr. Sciscioli is a 2001 recipient of a Fellowship in Choreography from the Illinois Arts Council and a graduate of Oberlin College.
