Artist Bio
Paulette Ivory
(Bio as of September 2005)
Paulette Ivory most recently appeared at the Goodman in Purlie during the 2005/2006 Season. British born, Ms. Ivory is one of London’s most acclaimed and respected West End performers. She moved to L.A. after completing the tour of Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida in the title role. Ms. Ivory was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for most outstanding performer in a touring production, and won a Carbonell Award for best actress in a musical. Since then, she has made guest appearances on Girlfriends, Strong Medicine, a pilot titled Queen Bethany and can now been seen as Sandra Miro in the movie Lords of Dogtown. Prior to Aida, some of her theater credits include Nala in The Lion King at the Lyceum; Brenda in Smokey Joe’s Cafe at the Prince of Wales Theatre; yum yum in The Hot Mikado at the Piccadilly; Maria in West Side Story and A Woman of No Importance with the Royal Shakespeare Company at Haymarket. Television credits include her recent casting as Claudia on CBS’ Numbers, Atlanta on Doctors and Tanya on Eastenders. Ms. Ivory also enjoyed a Number 1 single in Japan with Think Twice’s “Waiting for You.”
