Artist Bio
Paul Oakley Stovall
(Bio as of February 2002)
Paul Oakley Stovall most recently appeared at the Goodman in Drowning Crow during the 2001/2002 Season. Other Goodman credits include The Odyssey directed by Mary Zimmerman, Play On! (Jeff nomination- Best Actor/Musical), Black Star Line, Journey to the West directed by Mary Zimmerman, The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci directed by Mary Zimmerman and The Good Person of Setzuan directed by Frank Galati. Most recently, Mr. Stovall appeared in Undone at About Face Theatre where he is also an artistic associate. This fall, he directed, conceived and co-adapted the world premiere of Love Rules at DePaul University. Other Chicago credits include The Little Foxes, La Bete, Pantomime, Frida: The Last Portrait and Mystery Cycle at Court Theatre; Words on Fire with Steppenwolf’s Arts Exchange; A Perfect Ganesh at Northlight Theatre; and Blade to the Heat at Apple Tree, among others. Regional appearances include La Jolla Playhouse, Seattle Rep, Berkeley Rep, the Huntington, McCarter and Lincoln Center. National tours include Rent and Once On This Island. Internationally, Mr. Stovall appeared this past summer in Seito Ren’s Otonari No Dasso-Hei at Kinokuniya Hall in Tokyo.
