Paul Mutzabaugh, he/him (Music Director/Conductor) is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Chicago. In addition to leading his original group, The Unknown New, he has worked with variety of notable artists and ensembles including: Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Heather Headley, Jason Robert Brown, Robbie Fulks, Rufus Wainwright, Mannheim Steamroller, Miguel Zenón, Spektral Quartet, Fulcrum Point New Music Ensemble and the Charles Heath Quartet. Recent Chicago-area theater credits include: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, The Matchbox Magic Flute, Revolution(s), The Who’s “Tommy” (Goodman Theatre); Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical (Studebaker Theatre); MJ: The Musical (Nederlander Theatre). In the spring/summer of 2025, Paul will be serving as Conductor/Pianist on the Broadway production of The Last Five Years (Hudson Theatre, NYC).
