Artist Bio
Nygel D. Robinson
Nygel D. Robinson (he/him) is an artist based in Chicago, IL and is the co-writer of Mexodus, which was workshopped at Hi- Arts. Select theatre credits include Bro. Davis/ Music Director in The Amen Corner (Shakespeare Theatre Company), Jimmy Powers in Lady Day (North Carolina Theatre), and Actor/Musician in The All Night Strut (Milwaukee Rep. Nygel has his his hands in many other projects as a Composer/Lyricist, Music Director, Music Producer, and educator. Nygel has worked at Albany Park Theatre project as an MD, helping devise their 2022 show, “Homecoming.” Nygel was also an adjunct faculty member at The Hartt School where he workshopped an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet with the program chair, Keven Ramsey. Nygel’s teaching philosophy is that we must always tell the truth and we must always ask why. Nygel hopes to inspire young artists to find the uniqueness in their artistry and be the best story teller they can be.
