Artist Bio
Matthew Richards
(Bio as of September 2009)
Matthew Richards most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Animal Crackers during the 2009/2010 Season. Mr. Richards’ New York credits include lighting design for Port Authority and The Music of Jacob Sterling at Atlantic Theatre Company; Len, Asleep in Vinyl at Second Stage Theatre; The Drunken City and Pen at Playwrights Horizons; Grace at Manhattan Theatre Club for which he received a Lucille Lortel Award; Seussical: The Musical and Click, Clack, Moo at TheatreworksUSA for which he received a Lucille Lortel Award; One Loss Plus at Brooklyn Academy of Music Next Wave Festival and The Polish Play at Katharsis Theater Company. Other credits include work at Ars Nova, Edge Theater Company, The Flea Theater, LAByrinth Theater Company, The Play Company and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Mr. Richards’ regional credits include work at Alliance Theatre, Centerstage, Barrington Stage Company, Bay Street Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Dallas Theater Center, Delaware Theatre Company, the Geffen Playhouse, Hangar Theatre, TheaterWorks, Huntington Theatre Company, The Old Globe, New York Stage and Film, Philadelphia Theatre Company, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Round House Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Skylight Opera Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Wolf Trap Opera Studio and Yale Repertory Theatre. Mr. Richards is a graduate of The University of Massachusetts and The Yale School of Drama.
