Artist Bio
Maritza Cervantes
(Bio as of June 2005)
Maritza Cervantes most recently appeared at the Goodman in Dollhouse during the 2004/2005 Season. She has collaborated with many Chicago companies including Teatro Luna and their production of SEX-OH!, La Molecula Artistica: Nido de Mar, Aguijón Theatre of Chicago’s production of La Casa de Bernarda Alba, and FPP’s production of Polaroid Stories, En Mortem. She is a guitarist and vocalist for the Luna Blues Machine, a band she co-founded with her sister, Belinda Cervantes. She is a part of the Beyond the Turntable family (Malcolm Palmer, Public Housing), a group of artists that melds acoustic, hip hop, and soul music. Ms. Cervantes graduated from Columbia College Chicago.
