Artist Bio
Marcos Akiaten
(Bio as of February 2010)
Marcos Akiaten most recently appeared at the Goodman in The Long Red Road during the 2009/2010 Season. He co-starred in Culebra, a short film which just premiered at Slamdance, and recently concluded the filming of the feature film The Legend of Hell’s Gate. His other film credits include Callous, which is currently on the film festival circuit and has received two awards for best picture. Mr. Akiaten’s television credits include a guest role on Danny DeVito’s sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and an episode of 10 Items or Less on TBS. In May 2009, he appeared as Masassoit, the lead role in episode 1 of the acclaimed PBS/American Experience mini-series, We Shall Remain. He is a passionate volunteer who teaches horseback riding to adults and children suffering from heart conditions, autism and Down syndrome, as well as paraplegics and quadriplegics. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971.
