Artist Bio
Manhattan Theatre Club
(Bio as of November 2008)
Manhatten Theatre Club most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Ruined during the 2008/2009 Season. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Lynne Meadow and Executive Producer Barry Grove, Manhattan Theatre Club has been in the forefront of American theater for more than 35 years, with productions earning 19 Tony Awards and five Pulitzer Prizes, an accomplishment unparalleled by a New York theatrical institution. MTC premieres have included Doubt; Proof; The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife; Love! Valour! Compassion!; Rabbit Hole; LoveMusik; Putting it Together; Sylvia; Lips Together, Teeth Apart; Collected Stories; Ain’t Misbehavin’; Mass Appeal; Crimes of the Heart and Fuddy Meers. This season, MTC’s Broadway stage, formerly known as the Biltmore Theatre, was renamed the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. In addition, MTC operates two theaters at New York City Center, it’s off-Broadway home since 1984. MTC is pleased to continue partnering with the Goodman, having previously collaborated with them on Boy Gets Girl and Shining City directed by Robert Falls.
