L. Scott Caldwell most recently appeared at the Goodman in The Dreams of Sarah Breedlove during the 2005/2006 Season. She made her Broadway debut in the Tony Award-nominated Home by Sam Art Williams and won a Tony Award for her performance in August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. She also starred in Neil Simon’s Proposals, which won her the Helen Hayes Award. Last season, she received an Obie Award for her critically acclaimed performance in Lee Blessing’s Going to St. Ives. Ms. Caldwell studied with Uta Hagen, and made her professional acting debut as a member of the famed Negro Ensemble Company. She has appeared in world premiere productions by Wole Soyinka and Athol Fugard and has performed at regional theaters across the country, including the role of Lady Macbeth at Berkeley Repertory. Film credits include soon to be released Gridiron Gang, The Fugitive, Dragonfly, Waiting to Exhale, Down Came a Blackbird and Soweto Green. Television credits include Queens Supreme, and recurring roles on Judging Amy, E.R., City of Angels and the past two seasons of Lost, in which she plays Rose. Ms. Caldwell is a graduate of Loyola University.
