Artist Bio
K.J. Sanchez
(Bio as of November 2001)
K.J. Sanchez most recently appeared at the Goodman in Big Love during the 2001/2002 Season. She has been with Big Love since its premiere at the Humana Festival. This is K.J.’s second Chuck Mee play; she played Tape Mouth Man in the premiere production of Orestes, directed by Robert Woodruff. K.J.’s favorite roles are Juliet and Ophelia, both directed by Jon Jory at Actors Theatre of Louisville, and Millie in Picnic, directed by Anne Bogart. For five years K.J. was a company member of the SITI Company, co-founded by Anne Bogart and Tadashi Suzuki. With SITI, K.J. taught Viewpoints training and co-created three original pieces: Going, Going, Gone; Small Lives Big Dreams; and Cultures of Desire and performed extensively throughout the United States and internationally. Television credits include ER, Law & Order, and Homeboys in Outer Space. She is the voice of many creatures on the Nickelodeon cartoon Dora the Explorer. She recently created and directed an original play about Ophelia called Too Much Water for the Professional Actor Training program at the University of Washington, Seattle.
