Kemp Powers is an Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning screenwriter, director and playwright. The XIXth is his Goodman Theatre debut. Plays: One Night in Miami… (Donmar Warehouse, Olivier nom); The XIXth (The Old Globe); Little Black Shadows (South Coast Repertory); Christa McAuliffe’s Eyes Were Blue (CTG Digital Stage). Feature films as writer or director: One Night in Miami… (Oscar nom), Soul (Golden Globe), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse (Oscar nom). He is also the winner of multiple Annie Awards, NAACP Image Awards, National Board of Review Awards, among others.
