Artist Bio
Katie Spelman

Katie Spelman (Director) is a Chicago native director/choreographer; she recently made her Broadway choreographic debut this spring on The Notebook. Credits include: American Tail (World Premiere, CTC), Day 365: Live from the Rainbow Room, Cabaret (Barrington Stage), Once (Writer’s), The Music Man (Marriott Theatre), The Beautiful Game (TOHO Productions, Tokyo), AD 16 (Olney Theater, Helen Hayes Award), The Who’s Tommy (DCPA), Oklahoma! (Goodspeed). She has collaborated with Lookingglass Theatre Company, Paramount Theater, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Court Theatre, Ars Nova, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and Timeline Theatre. Katie was the Associate Choreographer on Moulin Rouge for the Boston, Broadway, and Australian companies, as well as a dance consultant on the West End and First National Tour productions; the Associate Choreographer on Rent Live! on Fox; and the Associate Director of Close to You in London (Chocolate Factory, West End). Other Broadway Associate work: Once, American Psycho, and Amelie. Upcoming: Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 at Writer’s Theatre this fall.
