Kate Buckley
(Bio as of November 2005)
Kate Buckley most recently collaborated with the Goodman on A Christmas Carol during the 2005/2006 Season. Directing credits include Macbeth and Cymbeline at American Players Theatre; Little Women at Kansas City Repertory; Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing at Utah Shakespearean Festival; Talley’s Folley at Northlight Theatre; The Credeaux Canvas at Madison Repertory Theatre; A Few Good Men at Theatre at the Center; The Last Night of Ballyhoo at Peninsula Players Theatre; Among the Thugs at Goodman Theatre and Next Theatre; Cherry Docs, The Laramie Project, The Incident, Are You Now or Have You Ever Been…, Stonewall Jackson’s House, Cardenio, Macbeth and Henry V (co-directed with Steve Pickering) at Next Theatre; My Own Stranger, Butley, Dear Master, Niedecker, Dear Liar and The Beats at Writers’ Theatre; Burn This at Renaissance TheatreWorks in Milwaukee; and The Merry Wives of Windsor at Utah Shakespearean Festival. She served as the artistic director of the Next Theatre, text coach for Chicago Shakespeare Theater and has been a guest lecturer on Shakespeare at universities and arts organizations nationally and abroad.
