Artist Bio
Joyce “Peaches” Faison
(Bio as of September 2005)
Joyce “Peaches” Faison most recently appeared at the Goodman in Purlie during the 2005/2006 Season. Her accomplishments as a singer are numerous. She has headlined for such stars as Redd Fox, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Bill Cosby, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Count Basie, Bruce Willis and Patti LaBelle. She has also maintained a successful voice-over career, as the current voice of Budweiser, Blockbuster Video and Sears. She also has extensive experience as a disk jockey, working first for WBEE Jazz Radio and later co-hosting WGCI’s morning show. Ms. Faison has also lent her image to various film and television productions, including a performance on The Tonight Show, Oprah, a PBS broadcast of Peter Wolf and the feature film Hoodlum. Ms. Faison recently earned the BTAA best actress award, the African-American Alliance for the Arts Award and a Joseph Jefferson Award for best actress in a musical for her performance as Billie Holiday in Lady Day for the Chicago Theatre Company in 2003.
