Artist Bio
John McKernon
(Bio as of March 2008)
John McKernon most recently collaborated with the Goodman on The Trip Bountiful during the 2007/2008 Season. Mr. McKernon’s credits include One Mo’ Time on Broadway and associate designer to Ken Billington on Broadway’s Chicago, Inherit the Wind, The Red Shoes and Sweet Sue. Off-Broadway credits include The Trip to Bountiful at Signature Theatre Company (Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award nominations); Singular Sensations and Further Mo’ at Village Gate Theatre; Jelly Roll! at 47th Street Theatre; What’s a Nice Country at Actors’ Playhouse; Othello at Roundabout Theatre Company; Wonder of the World; New Yorkers; Time and Again; Sylvia; Annie Warbucks; Lips Together Teeth Apart and The Lisbon Traviata. Regional credits include Crazy for You at North Shore Music Theatre; Fiddler on the Roof at Muhlenberg College; One Mo’ Time at Williamstown Theatre Festival; A Map of the World at James Bridges Theater; The School of Jolly Dogs at The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center; Jelly Roll! and The Piano Lesson at Crossroads Theatre Company, American Theater Company and Theatre Royal Stratford East U.K.; and An Evening With Jerry Herman at Majestic Theatre in Dallas, Texas. Mr. McKernon’s dance credits include 62 ballets for various companies and three short modern dance films. He has been the designer/supervisor on 52 projects and is also the author of Lightwright software.
