Artist Bio
John Kamys
(Bio as of November 2002)
John Kamys most recently collaborated with the Goodman on A Christmas Carol during the 2002/2003 Season. Other Goodman credits include Straight as a Line and Cloud Tectonics (Joseph Jefferson Nomination) for the Goodman Studio. He composed music for Teatro Vista’s production of Icarus at the Chopin Theatre. Chicago theater credits include the concert monologue Future City Homosexual Tells All at the Theatre Building, Wrong For Each Other at Victory Gardens, The Boiler Room at the Steppenwolf Studio, El Paso Blue at Next Theatre/Teatro Vista co-production (Joseph Jefferson Award), Santos and Santos and Ambrosio with Teatro Vista. Regional theater credits include scores for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival production of Romeo and Juliet and Missouri Repertory Theatre’s production of The Winter’s Tale. Recorded works include the CDs Supremacist (two GLAMA nominations), Guns and Super 8, Volume I. He is a member of The American Society of Composers and Publishers of Music (ASCAP) and Teatro Vista.
