Artist Bio
Jmichael
(Bio as of August 2013)
Jmichael holds a BA from Alabama State University and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan. He is co-founder of SoundFlyte Productions, has produced corporate shows at Ceasars Palace and The Mirage in Las Vegas, and is a featured performer for Disney Cruise Line and Disneyland Resort. He was the creator and director of The Platters tribute concept, including six shows with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra with Marvin Hamlisch conducting. He has been the music director for productions of Gut Bucket Blues, The Wiz, Black Nativity, Rejoice and Pullman Porter Blues, among many others. He made his acting debut as Wining Boy in The Piano Lesson, and appeared as Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Hartford Stage production of Mahalia. He co-wrote and performed the title song for the movie Olive Juice.
