Jennifer Lim returns to Goodman Theater where she starred in the world premiere of David Henry Hwang’s Chinglish, for which she earned a Jeff and Chicago Theater Critic’s Beat Awards nominations. Following the show’s move to Broadway, she received a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut, the IASNY Trophy for Excellence and a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Play. In addition to landing on numerous top ten lists, New York magazine named her “Most Exciting Broadway Newcomer 2011”. Her off-Broadway credits include The Urban Retreat (Public Theater); The Most Deserving (Women’s Project); Cry, Trojans! (Wooster Group); Golden Child (Signature Theatre); Vengeance Can Wait (P.S.122); Young Jean Lee’s Songs of The Dragons (HERE Arts Center); Yokastas Redux (La MaMa E.T.C.) and Ching Chong Chinaman (Pan Asian Repertory). Her international credits include This Isn’t Romance (Soho Theatre, London); European tours for Cry, Trojans! and Songs of The Dragons; The Medea (Adana State Theater Festival, Turkey) and a Chinese production of Hamlet (Shanghai Experimental Theatre Festival & Grotowski Int’l Theatre Festival, Wroclaw). Ms. Lim’s television and film credits include Person of Interest, Elementary, The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law &Order: Criminal Intent, Royal Pains, The Savages and 27 Dresses. She is a Hong Kong native, fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, as well as some basic Korean. She holds a BA in drama from Bristol University in the U.K., and an MFA in Acting from Yale School of Drama.
