Since its founding in 1972, Intiman has mounted classics from the world canon and the American theater, and today is on the forefront of the development of some of this county’s most important and exciting new work. Past world premieres include Robert Schenkkan’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Kentucky Cycle and Joan Holden’s Nickel and Dimed, based on the book by Barbara Ehrenreich. Intiman is also nationally recognized for its education programs (including the award-winning Living History program) and community partnerships, which help bring the theater’s work to wide and diverse audiences, and supports cross-cultural exchange and internationalism through groundbreaking collaborations with artists and companies from around the world.
