Artist Bio
Hugo Salcedo
(Bio as of August 2006)
Hugo Salcedo, a playwright and theater director, most recently collaborated with the Goodman on the 2006 Latino Theatre Festival. He has received numerous national and international awards, including Spain’s prestigious Tirso de Molina for his play El viaje de los cantores (The Crossing). This play also won the Best Mexican Play in 1990, awarded by the National Association of Mexican Playwrights. Mr. Salcedo is a founding member of Teatro del Notre in Mexico. His work has been staged in the United States, Venezuela and Peru.
